Donating basketball gear to kids in Angeles City, Philippines

Today some kids came up to me asking for donations so they could get some basketball gear. I’m pretty frugal with my money so I told them if they showed me where they played I’d see what I think they needed. To me there’s nothing cooler than seeing homemade basketball courts, like backboards and rims made out of all sorts of court and kids

I wasn’t planning on playing this day but there was a court, a ball and some eager kids. So we picked some teams and played. First half court, which was my choice, then they wanted to play full court. If it wasn’t for basketball I wouldn’t get much exercise while traveling. So when I get the chance I try to take it.

Later  I went to the store and got some nets and a ball for their upcoming basketball tournament. I had to improvise with zip ties and straws because there were no hooks for the nets.

After we played we went to the Sari Sari store and got some drinks.

Watch the video below to see the kids in action. Like always in the Philippines I was impressed with the skill level of these kids.
