Angeles City, Philippines – Air Force City Park

Air Force City Park in Angeles City, Philippines is a nice FREE spot to visit for a few hours to soak up some history. It also has shaded areas to have a picnic or have a little nap. A great trip for a family with lots of space for kids to run and numerous jungle gyms for them to play. If you don’t want to pack your own food they have a snack bar inside with refreshments. A good time to go is early morning or later in the day, 4-5pm when it is a little cooler. Continue reading “Angeles City, Philippines – Air Force City Park”

Talking with Renz Viaje a BMX flatland rider in Manila, Philippines

I got the chance to have a chat with Renz Viaje a BMX flatland rider while walking on Makati Ave. at The Ayala Triangle Gardens in Metro Manila, Philippines.
BMX rider face pictureAyala Triangle Gardens is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Metro Manila. You never know who you are going to run into. From walkers, runners, and dancers, to skateboarders and BMX riders. It’s a little mix of everything. This guy was super cool and talked with me for a little while and told me where to find the best places to visit, like to surf in Siargao see forest in Mindanao mountains in Baguio City and a bunch of other good stuff. Philippines has pretty much everything. It has over 7000 islands and endless things to do and see. Except skiing, if you want to ski go to the North Pole. Talking with Skateboarders in Makati, Philippines

Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati, Philippines is a perfect little area for jogging, sightseeing, dog walking and skateboarding! It seems like whenever I find the best places and meet the coolest people I am always lost. It holds true to this situation as well. I love the city but after a while I start to crave some greenery and I got what I wanted when I stumbled upon this little gem. One minute I was surrounded by skyscrapers and sounds of honking horns and the next I was surrounded by this.

Filipina girl sings Flashlight by Jessie J and Filipino boy does planks for 37 minutes!

The plan for today was to go check out the Mountain Dew Skate Park  in Makati, Philippines but unfortunately it was closed but for a good cause. Next to the skate park is the Globe Circuit Event Grounds and they were holding a huge free event sponsored by The Grand family Christmas Fair. It’s  an annual event with public services like, job shares, medical exams, medicine, vitamins, food, drinks and even haircuts all for free. There were also tons of fun activities like face painting, rides, trivia games and so on. One event was the exercise challenges and I got to witness a super human kid do planks for a whole 36 minutes and 47 seconds! He didn’t even look tired when he finished I think he just got bored.

I did a little interview with a girl whose father was Santa for the event. He didn’t even have to change his name. The girls name is Kayana Klaws and she is an actress/model/singer.  She’s been in movies and shows like CSI Miami and CSI New York. She’s been to over 100 countries and speaks 5 different languages. Kayana is a very smart and focused young actress and I’m sure she’s going to have a bright future. She also covered the song Flashlight by Jessie J,  you can check it out in the video at the bottom of the page.
You can follow her on Facebook Instagram Twitter

Couple hours in Bonifacio Global City – Metro Manila, Philippines

Bonifacio Global City, AKA BGC/Global City or The Fort, has a lot to offer. There’s plenty to see and do to keep you busy for a while. I didn’t get to spend as much time as I wanted there but enough to know I need to go back and visit again. It seemed to be a safe area, day or night, and pretty clean as well. There were many places to sit and rest with areas that provided shade and grass if you prefer picnic style.

Getting lost on my way to the floating village in Cambodia

I get lost a lot while traveling. I’m lost about 95% of the time. The other 5% I’m sleeping and even that gets confusing. While staying in Siem Reap, Cambodia I heard about the floating village. I decided to try to find it on my own. A very nice lady at the hostel I was staying at did an excellent job at giving me directions. Too bad while she was giving them my A.D.D kicked in and I got distracted by a butterfly or cat or a lama or something, Continue reading “Getting lost on my way to the floating village in Cambodia”
